Traveling to Monterrey
Arrival day to Monterrey
There will be a driver at the airport to transfer you from the airport to the hotel or pre-operative tests, depending on your schedule. In case your surgery is programed for the next day, you'll arrive directly to your pre-surgery tests and to the hotel afterwards. Pre-operative tests are performed in Monterrey the morning before surgery, so you should arrive before 10:00hrs.
A day before surgery
Appointment with an internist and cardiologist for examination and preoperative evaluation before 10am. After your pre-op tests we will schedule your covid pcr test.
In the afternoon you will have an appointment with Dr. Rumbaut and our specialist in Bariatric Nutrition for final details.
Procedure day
Depending on the time of your procedure you will be transported from your hotel to the hospital.
Bariclip patients spend 1 night at the hospital.
Hospital check-out
Dr. Rumbaut will discharge you from the hospital to continue your recovery process at the hotel (Bariclip patients spend 2 nights at the hotel).
During your stay you will be visited by a member of our medical team daily.
Going back home
You will have an appointment at our office for overall assessment, delivery of a copy of your surgery report and the date of your next follow-up visit (which will be by telephone or videoconference). One day before your departure we will coordinate your covid test (and your companions).
All air passengers coming to the United States, including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 3 days before traveling back home.
A driver will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the airport the day of your departure.
Other aspects to consider
Remember to follow the instructions that your airline gives you in terms of schedules and documents, so you do not have any setbacks with your appointments and your surgery.
National passengers require a ticket and an official identification. International passengers require a ticket and passport.
We recommend having the contact information for our office (1-888-456-1211) as well as the address of the hotel where you will arrive.
The hotel has complimentary transportation. The hotel shuttle van will take you to and from all your appointments and to the hospital.
